Position Overview
- We are currently recruiting passionate and responsible talents from Taiwan to join as Live-in Family Educators for Chinese-speaking families in Singapore.
- This role focuses on supporting school-aged children and teenagers through in-home academic companionship, learning habit development, and daily routine guidance. The aim is to help children build a stable learning rhythm and healthy lifestyle habits.
- Through patient guidance and positive daily interaction, Family Educators support children in developing confidence, independence in learning, and overall well-being within a family home environment.
Responsibilities:
- Academic Supervision: Accompanying the child while they complete school assignments to ensure accuracy and punctuality.
- Habit Formation: Cultivating good study habits, such as focusing for set periods and organizing their schedule.
- Review & Preview: Assisting with reviewing classroom material or preparing for the next day's lessons.
- Guided Reading: Reading extracurricular books together and engaging in discussions to improve comprehension.
- Emotional Mentorship: Acting as a supportive figure to reduce academic stress and build the child's confidence.
Requirements:
- Education: Applicants must possess a diploma or higher qualification, have at least 2 years of work experience, and candidates with a background in Early Childhood Education or related education fields will be given priority.
- Subject Proficiency: Strong foundation in specific subjects like English, Math, or general elementary/middle school curriculum.
- Patience & Communication: Ability to guide children through tedious homework with a gentle yet firm demeanor.
- Time Management: Strong logical thinking skills to help the child plan and organize their study schedule.
- Relevant Experience: Prior experience in tutoring, as a cram school assistant, or in other educational roles is a plus.
- Age Requirement: Age will be assessed on a case-by-case basis, taking into consideration the applicant’s overall background, qualifications, and experience. Interested applicants are welcome to submit their CV for our review.

You will have your own private room. Depending on the employer’s requirements, you may sometimes need to share a room with the child.
Meals and food arrangements: Will meals be provided by the employer, or will I receive an allowance to prepare my own food?
Yes, meals will be provided by the employer.
Cameras: Are there cameras in the home? Where are they located?
The Ministry of Manpower (MOM) regulations prohibit cameras from being installed in sleeping areas or bathrooms. During the interview with any prospective employer, you will be informed of the specific locations of any cameras, if applicable.
3. Rest Days, Daily Schedule and Salary
Daily schedule: What time does the household usually wake up and go to sleep?
The schedule varies from household to household. You will be informed of the schedule during the interview with any prospective employer.
Rest days: How many rest days do I have each month? Which day of the week will my rest day be?
MOM regulations state that you are entitled to one rest day per week. If a prospective employer has a different arrangement, this will be discussed with you during the interview.
Working on rest days: If I need to work on my rest day, how much will I be paid?
You will receive one additional day’s salary.
Salary payment: How will my salary be paid?
According to MOM regulations, your salary must be paid no later than the 7th day of each month. Payment will be made by bank transfer.
What medical insurance do I have?
Under MOM regulations, your employer must provide medical insurance and personal accident insurance and cover your medical expenses, including hospitalization expenses.
4. House Rules and Communication
Mobile phone policy: Can I use my phone during the day, or can I only use it after work?
This depends on the employer. You will learn about the specific policy during the interview process.
Dietary restrictions and cooking: What type of food does the household usually eat?
This depends on the household. You will find out more during the interview with the prospective employer.
Language: What language is mainly spoken at home?
This depends on the household and will be discussed during the interview. Generally, Mandarin and English may be used.
5. Work Pass Application
How long will it take to obtain my Work Pass?
Once you have been shortlisted, please submit all required documents as soon as possible. Upon receiving the complete set of documents, the Work Pass application will take approximately one week to process.
