Permanent Resident Application Process

Required documents for Permanent Resident
- Standard passport size photo
- EP Pass front and back
- Foreign ID card and birth certificate
- Passport
- Graduation certificates and vocational skill certificates
- Six months’ payslips
- Two-year Notice of Income Tax Assessment
- Deed of name change for those who have changed their name (if any)
Applicants of different nationalities may be required to provide varying sets of documents.
Holding an Employment Pass (two years)
- Individual income tax filing time: March 1 to April 18 every year
- You can apply for permanent residence after two years
From 1 September 2023, new Employment Pass (EP) candidates need to pass the points-based COMPASS in addition to meeting the EP qualifying salary.
Employment Pass (EP) is conditional
- The visa has an initial validity of up to 2 years and can be renewed for subsequent periods, with each renewal allowing an extension of up to 3 years.
- Employer-sponsored applications are not subject to quota limitations.
- Applicable to managerial, administrative positions, or professional roles
- Have a university degree
- Professional qualifications or skills
- The salary requirement is S$5,600 per month.
Get approval letter
Make an appointment online to visit ICA to complete the necessary formalities. The ICA officer will advise you of the date of collection.
Collecting the identity card
Go to ICA to pick up your ID according to the date of your appointment
If you receive a rejection letter
Wait at least 6 months before resubmitting your application. This is because, unless your circumstances change significantly (e.g. higher salary, new qualifications, etc.), your reapplication is unlikely to be approved
